Every year our members select new topics. This is an exciting time for our Collaborative – a chance to look back at our previous work and to think about how we can continue to help improve health care quality, outcomes, and affordability in our community. We will start our conversation on new topics at our July 19th meeting and will continue with an official vote at our meeting in September. Each year we choose three health care services where there is:
– Variation that serves no purpose,
– High rates of use or increases in use that are not necessary,
– Waste or inefficiency in care delivery,
– Patient safety issues, or
– Inappropriate care.
We have spent time looking at how to improve a wide variety of health care services, from how we are born to how we spend the end of our life. You can see all of our reports on our website here. This year we are working on:
– Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias
– Hysterectomy
– Implementing the AMDG Guideline on Prescribing Opioids for Pain
– Opioid Use Disorder Treatment
– Reviewing our Total Knee and Total Hip Replacement Bundle and Warranty
Do you have suggestions for us? We want to hear from you! Email me at GWeir@qualityhealth.org, come to a meeting, or send us comments through our website here.
