There is power in collaboration. There is strength in community. There is a creative spirit that can only be generated by a group of individuals coming together to address a mutual challenge.
In 2024, the Bree Collaborative, with the help of our subcommittee members, developed our first topic specific evaluation frameworks to help organizations across the state plan aligned evaluations as the begin to implement our guidelines. These frameworks were developed primarily by a subset of workgroup members and leverage some existing tools that the Bree has already created, including our score cards, question/survey/measurement banks, and our evaluation tool depot.
In 2025 we are hoping to expand participation in our evaluation subcommittees and provide a space for any organization that it interested in implementing and evaluating our guidelines.
What are they? Evaluation Sub-committees are groups that gather together to discuss and identify common metrics, discuss evaluation strategies, and develop a framework for evaluation that is useful and applicable to all system-actors across Washington State. They are made up of guideline development workgroup members, patients, health care staff, public health, community organizations, governmental organizations, evaluation specialists and others interested in helping design a framework for evaluation.
Why are they important? In order for these frameworks to be relevant to all system-actors, there needs to be a method for them to have input and influence in the way we measure progress towards system-wide change. Not all organizations have the capacity to plan and conduct an evaluation of their work or to participate in adding to a body of literature on the effectiveness of interventions. Our subcommittees provide an opportunity to all, large and small, to plan, align, and create measures that are relevant to all.
When are they? Meetings are held monthly from June through November. Specific days and times are determined by the sub-committee members.
How to sign up: Go to our Current Evaluation Projects page and find the topic you are interested in. Then email Karie Nicholas at knicholas@qualityhealth.org, to be added to the sub-committee.
